FADE IN
When we left DP and Jolene celebrating their lottery win at Mamie’s TipTop, he was quietly worrying about the secret that might be contained in the dream that Sonny, Radish’s father, had anonymously sent to Shvoo’s Trading Times “Dream Weaver” column for analysis. He has also heard that she might have been spreading rumors over at the Speedway about his sexuality, presumably because he has yet to take the bait and visit her doublewide while Jolene is at work.
After dropping Jolene at their trailer, DP heads to Radish’s house for a discussion about these vexatious questions. And for a few shots with Colt 45 chasers.

Radish has great news. While playing 3-Man Bar Dice at Maf’s, his father Sonny has won four tickets to the All Pro Wrestling matches a few towns away. He has invited DP and Radish to join him and his lady friend Carm. DP is customarily a rabid WWF fan and these matches are put on by the All Pro League, but DP’s favorite wrestler Ace Martin is one of the headliners so he is eager to accept.

This is one of Jolene’s nights at Bern’s School Bus fumigation yard so staying out late will require fewer explanations than usual.
Red, DP’s father will not be invited to the wrestling matches because of his long-standing feud with Sonny over the boat they once owned together. And now yet another issue has arisen to potentially come between the families.

Carm has privately told Sonny that his ex-friend Red is a faithless fisherman! She claims that her brother and his friends were bass fishing in a cove known only to a few people when they accidentally came across Red in a secluded backwater of the bayou. The brother swears that Red was not using a boat.

Upon discovery, Red began to stammer excuses, “It’s only a joke.” “This doesn’t mean anything.” but the panic was evident in his face. “Don’t tell anyone” he pleaded as they quickly motored away. Sonny has counseled Carm not to rush to judgement and not to tell anyone else until this treachery can be confirmed.
But, as we enter the scene Carm’s brother and his pals are already telling their disbelieving buddies their unthinkable account of how they discovered Red’s secret life as an armchair fisherman.
